As part of the diversification of its activities in the 2000s, Groupe Medine worked on a master plan for the development of the company's 10,000 hectares of land, strategically located on the West coast of the island.
Published in 2005, the Medine Master Plan established the creation of a new city in the West of the country over the period 2005-2025. This master plan was then subjected to a few transformations to take a new strategic direction: the creation of Uniciti, a Smart City whose main focus is on Education, through the setting up of an integrated and international Education Hub for Mauritians and foreigners. The ambition of the Group is to develop this city by leverage on the knowledge economy, positioning Uniciti Education Hub as the reference in the Indian Ocean in the field of Education.
